Select photographs that reflect the story that you are trying to tell. Let us take a wedding anniversary for example. You may want to select photos that start in early childhood through the wedding ceremony. Pick out several good ceremony photos and then collect additional photos from the ceremony through their lives to the present. Make sure to include the important highlights during those years. Next select some music that fits your photo selection. Generally the rule of thumb is about 15 photos per minute of music. Total photos for a 3 to 4 minute montage would be 50-60. Do not limit the photo montage to photographs. Consider those special moments that you captured on video and insert those. You can insert video from VHS, 8mm, or any of the recent popular formats.
